Did you know that each resume is scanned in just 10-30 sec?
Almost every candidate we reviewed makes the same 3 mistakes or has the same opportunities for improvement.
Let’s talk how to fix it!
1️⃣ Long vs. Very long
Usually, the most common mistake is a very long resume that seeks cutting and prioritization.
Surprisingly if it is prioritized well and described sharp, It becomes more apparent. We do not need long sentences or 5 pages resume.
Highlight the most crucial part in each statement, rewrite it statement 3-5 times, cutting just a couple of words each time.
2️⃣ Duties vs. Achievements
Resume points that are focused only on what you were assigned to do or what was the process of work: “Conducted meetings,” “Worked on,” “Collaborated with.”
You’re essentially describing the grunt work you did, and it’s usually never a good description of your professionalism.
Process descriptions should be avoided and turned out into achievements.
Achievements or impact statements are focused on what you have accomplished and what your results were. Use constructions like: ‘Accomplished X by implementing Y which led to Z.’ It demonstrated the value of your experience.
3️⃣ Description vs. Numbers
Lack of Quantification is one of the most underestimated problems.
Let’s talk NUMBERS!
People often struggle to find numbers because they feel like their projects need to be fully implemented, finished, and successful in finding numbers, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.
There are so many statistics describing the experience. It’s just a matter of estimating intermediate impact: “task resolution time decreased X%,” “Costs to serve decreased from Y to Z,” “Completion rate increased 2x times”.
To sum up, here is an example
