🤝 Ever needed a favor, intro, or referral—but got ignored?
It’s not that people don’t want to help. It’s that helping you feels like WORK.
At Google, I often got vague requests like:
❌ "Can you find out who handles Android support?" With 100K+ employees and thousands of teams, this means I now have homework. Who? Which team? What’s the issue?
Instead, try this:
✅ "I’m solving [X problem]. Here’s the team I think covers it ([LinkedIn link]). Here’s a draft message—could you pls forward it?"
Now, helping is easy—no guesswork, no follow-ups. SIMPLE FORWARD.
The easier you make it, the more people will say yes.
💡 Pro tip: Think ahead—what follow-up question will they get? Like screenshots, descriptions, etc. Answer it upfront.
💡💡 Pro pro tip: pls don’t just say hello, how are you? Jump right to the point!
